Suzan DelBene (Democrat)

B.A., Reed College; M.B.A., University of Washington.

Elected experience

Not an elected position, but as Director of Washington’s Department of Revenue I led efforts to reform and simplify the tax system to help small businesses.

Other professional experience

Successful career as businesswoman and entrepreneur. Former Microsoft executive, led local high-tech startups, and served as an advisor to an international non-profit helping struggling families.

Community service

I've mentored students at UW Business School, been active in my church, serving as a board member. Volunteered with the PTA, Girl Scouts and YWCA, supporting transitional housing, job training and services to help families get back on their feet.

Elected to three-terms in the Washington State House of Representatives; Elected to the Snohomish County Council in 2001 where he currently chairs the Law and Justice Committee/Human Services Committee; Elected 2011 President of the Washington State Association of Counties

Former business consultant before being elected to the County Council; Third generation dairyman who owned and operated his own business for 25 years
